Princess's Baptism

The princess was baptized the day before Easter. My Uncle and sister were able to make it over the pass despite the snowy weather. It was a rushed morning of everyone getting ready but once we got there everything was great. She was so excited to have so much family and friends there for her special day. Thank you to everyone for all of your help and for coming. It really meant a lot to her and to us.

Easter Reunion Fun

As many of you know we managed to stuff a lot of people into our house over spring break. In total at one time managed 10 adults and 19children. I have to say that I was impressed with how well everyone managed in such a small space. Even though the boys slept in the garage for the first part, they thoroughly enjoyed it. Over spring break we had lots of fun playing out in the massive amounts of snow we received, the Princesses baptism, the zoo and the rec center. It was so great to have everyone out for a little reunion. At the rec we went swimming and the older kids went rock climbing. Later in the week the younger ones went to a gymnastics class with Cute stuff. The kids played in the snow for hours. The zoo was a lot of fun and as it was in Denver it was nice, warm, sunny and best of all snow free! At the end of the day the girls were simply exhausted. The Princesses baptism was great too. All in all everyone had a great time. We loved having everyone out here that could make and missed those who couldn't.

Cute Stuffs Birthday

As we are always very busy we didn't have a friend party this year for Cute Stuff. We did have a small party with family and Reagan and Anna. It is hard to believe that she turned two this year. Growing up so fast. She had so much fun eating her cake and opening presents. We were able to take her sledding a few weeks later. She loved it. I even managed to take Daisy Duke down once. She didn't like it quite as much as Cute Stuff did. Happy Birthday Cute Stuff!

Pinewood Derby

This year the Dude was mostly on his own making his car as the Doctor was very busy working. He did a great job with every part of it. The Dude drew his own design and cut it out with the help of the Doctor. We then went to the store for him to pick out colors and he went to work. At the race (while his youngest sister was jumping off benches backwards) his car did very well. He received first place for the weebelos which was two other dens and third place overall. He was so excited. They even gave him trophies for these which made his night.

Dude's basketball games

The Dude decided to try a new sport this year, basketball. He really enjoyed learning the rules and after the first game he really started to get the hang of it. This could be his sport. He played very well. I only felt bad for him when he played against a girl that was taller than him. She shot over his head and made it. There was nothing he could do to stop her. Being the tallest on his team he was always matched up with the tall players on other teams. The Dude used his height to his advantage and was able to rebound on several occasions. His team had a great time playing together and even won their last game.

Father Daughter Dance

In February the rec dept held its annual father daughter dance. The girls were so excited. I took them shopping for new jewelry and we gave them each a new dress. We did their hair and a little bit of makeup. The girls loved getting all dressed up. We went out to dinner together and from there the girls went with their dad to the dance. The girls loved it not only were they with their dad but also with their friends and their dads too. They all had a great time dancing. I only wish the princess had taken here jacket off for her pictures. Oh well.

Utah/Grand Junction

So sometime at the beginning of the year we went to the Doctor's brothers house and spent the day with them. Dougs second youngest brother and family also came. The kids had a great time and so did we. We all ate at Goodwoods and just had a good time being together. The next morning we got up early and headed to Grand Junction as the Doctor had to work there. While he worked we went to the dinosaur museum and the Colorado National Monument. The kids loved both, especially the earthquake demonstrator at the museum. They were also able to dig for dinosaur bones. Overall it was a great weekend and well worth the drive to Utah.

Princesses Birthday and New years

Okay so I am going to try to catch up on my blogs in the next few weeks beginning with the first of the year. The Princess had her party on New years eve with her friends staying over. She invited one boy who wouldn't leave until he saw her in her new jammies. The girls pt on make up and then blacked out their faces just to be silly. After everyone left we went down to my Dad's and did the girls party there. We all had a great time.

Christmas

So far behind on my blog I thought I might try to catch up this week. We spent Christmas with my Dad and had a great time. On Christmas eve we went to my Dad's wife's brothers house for dinner and then sang carols by the piano. That was such a fun tradition to participate in and we were very grateful to be invited. As I ruined all of the cookies last year I didn't do any this year.Doug and I got a new camera which Doug is super excited about. The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins and being with family. The Dude got a guitar that he has wanted forever, the princess got a new bike, the Napster got an mp3 player and Cutestuff got a couch she can sleep on (which she loves) from Grandma and Grandpa. Getting together with family is always so much fun.
After Christmas my cousin and sister came home with us. One day we went down to town and the girls decided that they wanted to do build-a-bear for their birthday so everyone made a build a bear. I have to say Megan's was very cute. It was so much fun.

Napsters birthday and party

Hard to believe that the Napster has turned six. We had a small family celebration at teh rec with an ice cream cake. She wanted to wait to have her party at the rec center. Her party consisted of 45 minutes of gymnastics and 45 of swimming. It was just her and her friends at the gymnastics part and she had a great time. The gymnastics studio is incredible and the kids favorite part is jumping in the pit. Unfortunately we didn't realize our card was almost full. Bummer! Swimming was also fun for her and her friends. Cake time was a little crazy as Cutestuff kept trying to eat the cake before it was cut. She got a lot of cute things and best of all she had a great time with her friends and family.
