O Christmas Tree

On Saturday after all of the kids left my Dad and his wife came up and we went a few miles behind our house to hunt for the perfect tree. The girls did great in the beginning no complaining and really having a good time. That is until we drove back a little ways to a meadow to find a tree and the sun was on its way down. I followed my Dad and the Doctor who were on a mission with the Dude. When they hiked up a hill I took the girls to a sunny spot as they were getting cold. This worked for about two minutes when the older girls were very cold and Cute Stuff started crying. So I hiked back to where I had left the guys and hollered for them. Of course they couldn't here me so then I tried to text the Doctor and of course he didn't answer. So the girls and I hiked to the car and guess what, the Doctor had locked the car so we couldn't get in. After several attempts to call him we hiked back to where we left him. By then all of the girls were crying and frozen. We found the Doctor who says his phone only rang once got the keys and sat in the car while they went back out. The girls watched Disney on my phone while Cute Stuff got into everything. About 20 min later the Doctor, Dude my Dad and his wife came back with 2 perfect trees. The best part is they only cost $10 instead of at least $100. In reality though the best part was spending time with the family. We came back and had hot chocalate and Spaghetti with homemade meatballs.

The Princess

On Friday the Princess also had two friends over for a sleepover. They were at gymnastics at DU and didn't get back until after 9. When they got here I gathered up a few things for them to do, some snacks and told them not to bother the boys. Surprisingly they listened. My kid have learned that you can make face paint out of colored pencils and water. This is what the girls spent their morning doing. It is great for the kids to have such good friends so close.

The Dude's birthday party

On Friday the Dude celebrated his birthday with 9 friends who all stayed the night. The boys had a blast playing guitar hero and watching movies. Most of them stayed up the whole night. They whipcreamed a couple of the boys for crashing early. All of the boys got along really great and are really good kids. I was surprised to see a few shorter than the Princess. At 3:30 I got up to let the boys know that they needed to be a little quieter. After a snack they were much quieter. For breakfast the Doctor made French Toast and bacon. The Dude had a lot of fun and can't wait for next year.

Thanksgiving Day

For Thanksgiving all of the adults went to watch the Broncos and Giants game while the kids were babysat. (Thanks Megan). The game wasn't as cold as I expected and jwas a lot of fun. I sat with the Doctor, My Dad and my Brother. We were all rooting for the Broncos who won. There was a Giants fan sitting next to the Doctor who was absolutely hysterical. At one point he offered to trade in his hat for a Broncos hat. On days that the Broncos don't play against the Cowboys I am all for them winning. It was a great game. The Broncos played very well. We all had a lot of fun enjoying the game and being together. (Thank you Dad).

Denver Aquarium

Last Wednesday the Kids and I went to the Denver Aquarium with my Cousins wife and their little boy who is 2 1/2. The kids had a great time. There were fish that are on the Colorado endangered list among other types of fish, sharks, starfish, seahorses etc. I was surprised to find a real tiger. Also the kids enjoyed looking at the different exhibits of reptiles, birds and amphibians. It was a lot of fun and had a lot more than just fish. They also had fun playing with their cousin.

Disneyland November 2009

The Doctor had a class in Anaheim in November so we opted to take the kids along and go to Disneyland again. We drove and on our way the kids hardly slept. Halfway through Utah just shortly after midnight going 80 on the 15 the whole sky lit up. It was bright as day for a few seconds. It was soo scary but the Doctor and the kids enjoyed it. I thought we were in Arizona. So we arrived at the Doctors brothers house around 3:30 our time and slept a whole 2 1/2 hours. We spent the day there and had a great time. We need to visit more often. We had lunch and then went on our way to the Hard Rock for the kids pins and then to Anaheim. Traffic was so crazy it was after 7 I was going 70-75 and people were flying by me. On our first day we went to California Adventure and met friend who were also there for a few days and hit the rides. It was fun and tiring. The next day we went to Disneyland. We took in a lot of rides and a couple of parades. It was nice to see that they still do Christmas. The Christmas parade was great. On Saturday the kids and I did Disney again on our own. Mostly getting autographs for the girls. The Doctor met us for Dinner and then we went back to Disney for the fireworks. The Dude and the Doctor caught a few more rides at splash mountain just before they started. At the end of the show they had machines making snow bubbles, the girls loved it. Sunday we did the Character breakfast and then went back to California Adventure. We rode a ferris wheel where the cart moves at the same time as the wheel. Pretty Freaky. We then hit Disneyland one last time before we left. Dinner the first two nights were Roundtable and the last night was In N Out. The two best places to eat.
