Even though it is a little embarrassing I thought I would tell you guys about my bad day that turned into a good weekend. It all started when Cute Stuff got up early from her nap. I was trying to get laundry down so that I could pack for our trip. That didn't happen once she woke up. I then had to pick up the kids from school and get gas. On the way there the Doctor called and said I had till 4 to get his fishing license which he was supposed to get earlier that week. I was wearing sandlas because although it had
been snowing all day we had maybe a tenth of an inch on the ground. Well five minutes down the road at the fishing store there were at least three inches on the ground if not more. Once inside I found out that I needed his driver's license therefore I couldn't get it as I was already going to be late getting the kids. Once I picked up the kids I had to run the princess straight to piano because we were leaving after the Doctor got off work. Once there Cute Stuff filled her pants so I grab the diaper bag and guess what, there aren't any diapers. So I send the Dude out to the car while I start
changing her. I pull off her pants and she leaked through. The Dude comes back and says there aren't any diapers in the car either. So I send him out for any kind of pants he can find. He brings back pajama bottoms. I put a pad in there because that is all I have and hope she doesn't pee till we get home. Ten minutes later there is a puddle on the floor. Luckily she missed the carpet and went on the concrete. So we take a wet Cute stuff home after the lesson and try to pack. She decides this is the perfect time to start screaming and does so the whole time we are packing. We
pick up the Doctor and head out. On the way down from the top of the pass in the middle of nowhere I realize that I forgot to get gas. We look at how many miles we have left on the tank of gas and it is thirteen. We have no clue how far we are from the next town. The gas is going faster than it says it will as we are driving through 4-6 inches of unplowed snow in four wheel drive and using the five speed part of our car ( which is nice to have in snow). We also have ice built up on our windshield wipers so the snow is not clearing as it should. At the bottom of the hill the snow is getting heavier and getting harder to see more than a car length in front and the gas is going faster. We to the start of town with one mile and a lot of praying. After we filled up with gas we looked and we were on zero miles. So now the Doctor is driving because I am too stressed out to concentrate. The gas attendant said that the snow had started and hour earlier and they already had 6-8 inches. We are now on the freeway and the Doctor starts to pass someone who decides that they own the road and moves into the middle where we can't pass. We try to use our horn but there is so much snow on the front of our car that it doesn't work. Finally we flashed him and he moved over. A little bit later someone a few cars ahead of us spins out. It is pouring down snow but we finally made it to my Dad's an hour and a half after we should have. The next morning there was a little over a foot of snow. We realized that morning that the Dude forgot to pack his socks and undies through all the chaos of the night before so we had to buy some more. The Doctor and my Dad shoveled the drive so we could get out while the Dude shoveled the deck. Now we are off on our way on snowy roads.
It was a very pretty but slow drive. After lunch the Doctor convinces me to drive as it is clear outside. Not ten minutes later and it is pouring down snow, ice and lightening. Needless to say he drove all the way home. The Doctor worked while the kids and I visited with my Mom Mom and Pop Pop. the Dude and the Princess went fishing with Pop Pop and caught two fish each. We all had a good time and the roads were clear for the drive back. Thank Goodness. When we got back there was two feet of snow on the ground and my Dad had no electricty and four feet of snow.
